Participatory Practice
My practice centres on participation, shared making and the creation of environments that invite connection, care and exchange. I facilitate workshops and collaborative projects that encourage open-ended exploration, where there is no single correct way to create. Through accessible materials such as textiles, collage and found or reclaimed objects, participants are supported to follow their own ideas with intention and presence.
I am interested in how acts of gathering and making together can create space for storytelling, reflection and collective experience. These projects prioritise process over fixed outcomes, allowing works to emerge through dialogue, material engagement and the contributions of participants.
Project 1: Queer BritainWorkshop in Response to the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt
Developed in response to the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt, this workshop invited participants to reflect on memory, loss and collective care through textile-based making. Drawing from the material and emotional significance of the quilt, participants engaged in stitching and collage to explore personal and shared narratives.
The workshop created a space for reflection, conversation and creative expression within a supportive group environment, connecting individual experiences to a broader collective history.

Project 2: London LGBTQ+ Community CentreTextile and Mixed Media Workshop Series
This participatory workshop invited participants to explore personal narratives through textile-based making, using stitching, collage and reclaimed materials. Emphasising creative play and accessibility, the session encouraged open-ended exploration without pressure toward a final outcome.
Participants contributed stories, ideas and materials in a shared environment that supported experimentation, conversation and connection.
Project 3: Republic, London (Forthcoming)Here, We Belong: Collective Textile Installation for Republic Pride Programme
Here, We Belong is an artist-led participatory textile installation developed in response to Pride Month and Republic’s diverse international campus community. Across two workshop days, students and staff are invited to create small textile pieces reflecting themes of belonging, connection and care.
Working in a relaxed, drop-in format, participants contribute individual elements that gradually form a larger collective installation, allowing the voices and experiences of the Republic community to emerge in real time. The workshops begin with a short introduction to the significance of Pride Month, offering an inclusive entry point for participants from a range of cultural backgrounds while encouraging reflection on visibility, identity and shared experience.
Through stitching, collage and material exploration, the project creates a space for expression, dialogue and connection, where individual contributions come together to form a collective statement of belonging.
Project 4: WIP Studios, London Festival of Architecture, and Wandsworth Council (Forthcoming)Rooms We Carry: Community Textile Workshop and Installation
Rooms We Carry is an evolving participatory textile project exploring memory, interiors and shared space. Developed in collaboration with WIP Studios as part of the London Festival of Architecture, the project invites participants to reflect on rooms, thresholds and environments that have shaped their sense of belonging.
Through a series of workshops, participants create stitched and fabric-based responses that translate personal memory into material form. These contributions remain on display within the space, gradually forming a growing collective installation over the course of the project.
The work considers how spaces are held not only physically but emotionally, carried through memory and experience. By bringing together individual reflections into a shared environment, the project explores how personal and collective narratives can coexist, creating a layered and evolving sense of place.
