Celebrate connection, care and creativity in this special Valentine’s-themed textile workshop, where we’ll be hand-stitching fabric heart ornaments using reclaimed and scrap materials.
This relaxed, welcoming session is an invitation to slow down and create something meaningful — whether as a gift for a loved one, a keepsake for yourself, or simply a moment of mindful making. You’ll be guided through a range of simple stitching and construction techniques, with space to personalise your heart using colour, texture, words or symbols that feel meaningful to you.
Working with textiles has a long history of storytelling, resistance, and care — and this workshop embraces that tradition in a gentle, accessible way. Using fabric, thread and hand-stitching, you’ll explore how craft can be both playful and emotionally grounding.
This workshop is suitable for everyone — complete beginners and those with prior experience are equally welcome. All guidance is offered in a supportive, pressure-free environment, and you’re encouraged to work at your own pace.
All materials will be provided, including fabric scraps, threads, needles and stuffing. You’re also welcome to bring small fabric pieces or materials of personal significance if you’d like to incorporate them into your heart.
You’ll leave with:
A handmade fabric heart ornament
New stitching techniques
A calm, creative experience shared with others
This is a queer-inclusive, affirming space, open to the whole LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
