Create a bold and personal tote bag exploring Pride as protest, collective expression, and wearable creativity.
In this relaxed and beginner-friendly workshop, participants will transform old tote bags or fabric items using reclaimed textiles, fabric collage, felt lettering, simple hand stitching, and optional fabric paint. Together we’ll explore how textiles can carry messages of resistance, care, visibility, joy, and identity.
Participants are encouraged to bring an old tote bag, fabric item, or garment to reclaim and transform. Blank tote bags will also be available to purchase on the day.
Designed to be welcoming, accessible, and community-focused, this workshop centres process over perfection and offers space for experimentation, conversation, and collective making during Pride Month.
No prior sewing or textile experience is needed. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with your own wearable Pride protest tote.
All basic materials will be provided.
